A Widow

fate of dawn
rock the man
move the pawn
the grim of the reaper binds
his habits contaminate mens'minds
a puff of smoke
from lip to lung
as sorrow seeps soundlessly until spilling
she a widow shattered by leaky shadow
no earthly being to understand nor begin to know
the heart freezes  stomach packed with snow
to watch a husband go six feet dirt low
tears unable to contain
man-less mistress facing crippling pain
raining from face to floor
cheeks inflated like a marooned lifeboat
paddling and screaming but she cannot reach shore
she is key-less to a locked door
every tear a broken note
unprepared and overwhelmed
eyes laced with death
knees hugging floor
hands catching tears
waiting listening to the nothingness she hears
memories are heavy breaking her neck
rippling pillows consume her living horror
the crumbling of their loves bricks and mortar
a sleepless awakening
a shout-less house
a silent fever
a widow

Beautiful Nothing

I am beautiful nothing
I am the tears you cannot stop
Blood unbound by bandages
Beautiful in a nothing jar
with a nothing face
I am beautiful nothing

Holding Misery's Key

Inked in a soft mint skin

Another note tumbles effortlessly down orchard red cheeks

Burning ocean blue eyes to a blood shocked red

A mortal pitch extinguishes a forgotten sunrise

Silence

Sinking deeper, falling further, screaming louder

A body refusing to take orders from a corrupt command

Holding steady till the beginning of malfunction

Knees bent and knocking

Holding misery's key

Striking Stallion

        His love my salvation

   He claimed his dire proclamation

               A stealthy thief

    Shimmying down his chimney heart

            Inflicting my spiraling grief

Tearing, ripping down our loves art

                  Striking dart

                   Stinging a tender core

                                  Wounded I roar

                       The winds change

                    It begins to rain

Who decided to put me in so much pain

I watch you walk the plank to the door

                      My mind starts to drift

                                Drifting, floating far from you

                          Asking why and wondering who

                                   Justice shaken

                    Reality drearily awaken

                             My modest face

                    Has been replaced

But my heart continues to beat

Unable to take much more defeat

                                                 Like a storm stricken ship

Holding fast to keep its grip

I still wake to the smell of deceit and lies

                                                          But I refuse to listen

I wont let this agony glisten

Once upon a time there was a beautiful girl and all she wanted to do was fall in love.
When the girl became a woman she found love.

But it did not last and when it ended she fell to pieces.

As the years passed she regained strength and was able to put pieces of herself back together.

There was only one problem.

There were pieces of her which had become lost.
